A wing and a foil board on a sandy beach at sunset

Where to ride an eFoil

Lessons, rentals and the rules on the water, grouped by region, from North America and the UK to the Caribbean and New Zealand.

The spots below are sorted into four regions: the USA and Canada, the UK and Ireland, Europe, and the rest of the world. Country guides sit next to the pages for a single lake, island or coast, so Italy has neighbors in Lake Garda, Lake Como and Sardinia. Under each name you will find a line on what that page covers.

Start with the rules. Most Austrian lakes ban eFoils, Canada bans propeller driven surfboards, and Sydney riders learn at Bobbin Head or Botany Bay because Sydney Harbour is off limits. Even on Lake Garda, Trentino says no at Riva and Torbole. For an island holiday, look at Mallorca, Hawaii or Turks and Caicos; for a lake day, Lake Tahoe. If you want a wing, the Canary Islands and Ireland pages also say where to learn wing foiling.

Each spot page covers who teaches there and which rules apply on that water. Local permits and bans can change, so confirm with the school before you travel.
